I am so lucky to have the last name of Dollar because I can have almost endless fun with it and people kind of expect me to as well, a real "win-win" situation. So, after I met Joe Fonseca (JustJoePens) at the Baltimore Pen Show in 2023 we took the opportunity to fulfil his desire as a material-maker with my wanting to continue to differentiate in the market. Joe had asked me several times if he could make a material color for me and while at first, I could not think of anything in particular, it struck me that I should ask for him to create material that had the colors of a $100 bill.
Joe took the challenge and soon turned around the first set of blanks which I then sold starting at the Washington DC Pen show in August of 2023. Since that time I have created pens in all four of my models (Liberty, Ike, Mercury and Freedom), some with clips, others not and this has become my #1 material seller.

Awesome! Jared is graduating in December with his doctorate and I am thinking about one of your pens that is both “ball point” and fountain pen.
Do you have anything with a Christian theme or a specific recommendation?

May 22, 2025I got one of these and I just love it! I got the Liberty pen (a hefty pen) with black endcaps and a clip. to me it really makes the “Benji” resin stand out. The story behind the resin pulled me in, but the beauty of the pearly green and copper sparkle hooked me. I’m so glad I got this pen at the Arkansas Pen Show – March 2025. And the nib is soooo smooth and tuned. #noregrets!
