Schmidt Cartridge-Rollerball-System

Rollerball Option

Inking the Schmidt Cartridge Rollerball

This rollerball system utilizes a wick to carry the ink from the cartridge or converter to the rollerball tip. After inserting the cartridge, converter or eye dropping you will need to wait approximately 30 seconds for the ink to make its way to the tip.

When changing colors, it has been my experience that it is easiest to swap colors without first rinsing the nib. The reason for this is that if you attempt to rinse the nib with water you will need to let the new ink flush out the water first, leaving you with a watered-down ink for a little while.

If you insert a new color, always recommend using the same brand of ink, you will have a "new" color for a while until the new color completely displaces the old.

Changing between the Fountain Pen to Rollerball nib is easy. View this video for details.
